Mint Tower Capital was founded in 2010 by four partners who chose the name in reference to the Mint Tower in Amsterdam. This tower, constructed between 1480 and 1487, was formerly part of the Regulierspoort, one of the three main gates forming part of the city’s medieval fortifications.
The Mint Tower is not just a stone’s throw from Beursplein 5 where the Mint Tower can be found. During the the Dutch “year of disaster” 1672 it was also the only place where money minting was kept out of the reach of the French. With Mint Tower, as underlined by recent years’ results, money is in safe hands as well.
Customers choose Mint Tower because it offers a unique opportunity to invest in strategies which require specialist knowledge, experience and infrastructure which are generally accessible only to institutional investors.
Mint Tower focuses on absolute returns, meaning a low correlation with the equity market. What most appeals to clients is the fact that the partners invest in the fund and that payment is related to performance. The partners thus have the same interests as the other participants.
